I just wanted to let you know that our group LOVED the Angelito! And Maja was absolutely wonderful! One of our group members even composed a song about the Angelito :-) and sang it to the crew the last night on the boat (she brought her travel guitar to Ecuador!). It really was an amazing experience--- we were a very lucky group. And we will all definitely recommend the Angelito to our friends and family.
Ursula

We spent a week on the Angelito in May 2010 and it was a great experience. The boat is roomy, spacious in the areas that matter - outdoors, dining area. The captain and crew were very helpful, thoughtful and took great care of all us, in spite of Angelito not being a 'luxury' boat, we felt luxurious! The best part of the week (other than the wonders of Galapagos itself) was having Maja for a guide. She set a slow pace of activities at the start of the week. We are used a fast-paced lifestyle and it was great to slow down for a week and enjoy the world around us. There was more than one occasion when a group went past us and we were still watching the Iguanas/Tortoises and were never sure where the other groups were rushing to. Maja was able to keep all 16 of us together and find the right pace and things of interest for the group (flowers for one, birds for another, photographs etc). Maja's knowledge of Galapagos (living there 21 years) is great and she is open to sharing information at any time. Safety is top on Maja, the captain and crew's mind and that was great too. Having a small boat of 16 people, meant that we always felt like we had individual attention from Maja and the crew and were never in large groups. We had to wake up early in the morning on many days, but like Maja said - this was worth it. We rarely saw other people on the islands and always saw more wildlife than we would have if we got to the islands at 10am when the sun was up in the sky. In all, we would definitely recommend Angelito and Maja to anyone looking for a trip to Galapagos.
Hello Maja and Bruna,
Thank you again for all your help in arranging our trip to Galapagos. Pam and I had a wonderful time on our "trip of the lifetime" and we enjoyed getting to know our fellow passengers very much.
Thank you so much,
Judi & Pam
Dear Maja and Bruna,
Buenas Dias!!
I have just returned home from Ecuador and wanted to thank you both again for all your help in arranging my fabulous holiday.
It was a pleasure to stay in your guesthouse in Quito, where everyone was so welcoming and helpful and nothing was too difficult to arrange.
The islands were just amazing! I loved being on the Angelito – he’s a very comfortable boat and the crew were fantastic and seemed to get on well together. Diego was great (he’s a funny man!), there was plenty of snorkelling and nothing ever seemed rushed. The landings were timed well so that we hardly ever ran in to other groups (and even when we did there were never and “hold-ups”). The food was excellent. Even the weather was perfect and each day brought something new and lovely. It was very tempting to stay on for Isabela (but that leaves something to look forward to for next time)…
Tangara was a lovely place to stay for my last night in Ecuador – perhaps next time I may make more time for Guayaquil and surrounds.

Many thanks again for setting things up – I was impressed at how smooth and efficient the process of booking everything was and more importantly, how everything went to plan when I arrived. Your knowledge of and passion for Ecuador (not just the islands) is evident and I think this helps you give travellers a more personal experience.

I am very envious that your job involves visiting the islands on a regular basis but hope to be back in the near future to see Isabela and more! I have even been in inspired to do a dive course (to improve the chances of seeing those hammerheads!!).

Yours warmly,Paula
Dear Maja and Bruna, and the rest of the all Cometa-crew,
Thank you so much for all you did during our stay in Ecuador.
We have been on many places on earth, but however, we haven't seen many times such a service!
Thank you for let us use your bed and breakfast, nothing but compliments! Veronica and Elena, Super!!!
Of course the trip to the Cotapaxi unforgettable!
But most of all... The Galapagos islands....
Far beyond all expertations!!!!!!!!!
Almost forgotten how beautiful the world can be.
Angelito... SUPER!
We enjoyed every single moment, no dull second, excellent crew and guide!
We will recommend this whole trip in the brochure from the travelagency, my friends own!
Many many thanks for making our dreamholiday!
Best regards und lieber Grüsslie

Dear Bruna and Maja,

We would like to convey our heartfelt thanks to you both for a such wonderful time whilest we were in Equador. Our trip on the Angelito to the Galapagos was simply fantastic and a trip we will never forget. Maja, your expertise and knowledge of the Galapagos surely is the best there is, and we appreciated your extra special efforts to make us feel comfortable amongst the other passengers, and enjoy the experience. Bruna, thank you also for your extra special attention whilst staying in Quito and also driving us to the airport. Our stay in your house was so comforable and just like being back at home. We really appreciated you going out of your way for us in many ways. Our wonderful memories of the Galapagos will remain with us forever thanks to you both and Cometa Travel. We will definitely be recommending you to our friends in Australia.
best wishes and kind regards

I have used TripAdvisor heavily for the past year in planning my trips and I though I should start to contribute to the community too!

I just came back from a one week cruise with Angelito from Feb 21 to 28, 2010 with Maja as my guide. We were on itinerary B, which means we spent time on Isabela but missed out on Espanola and Genovesa.

I was very thankful for my decision to travel with Angelito. Maja was one of the greatest guide I ever had. She is passionate, enthusiastic, positive and very caring. She has worked on the islands for 21 years and she knows all the places and animals inside out. You can ask her anything and she would be able to give you an answer. We got rained on half the time during the week but she is very positive and cheered everyone up. Despite the rain, she tried very hard to show us how great the islands are. Her sense of humour also helps when she described the birds/animals/plants to us. Also, unlike some other guides, Maja snorkelled with us (5 times during the whole cruise!) everytime, took picture of me and my boyfriend, and showed us all the great living things in the sea. This was my fist time snorkelling and Maja made sure that we feel comfortable and she stayed close to us all the time.

The itinerary itself was good. I heard that Espanola and Genovesa are quite busy with tourists. Our route concentrates on the west side of Isabela. We see some dramatic landscape (green and white beaches; caldera; lava land; hiking trials) and many birds/animals in wild and we didn't see a lot of other tourists (at most two or three other boats around). Maja was careful in planning the route ahead of time so that we don't run into other groups all the time.

The boat itself is simple but sufficient. The cabin is simple (no TV in the room but why would you want to watch TV in Galapagos?) and it was cleaned up everyday. We get some candies and/or souvenirs each evening ( a nice surprise for us!). The cabin was small but sufficient. The food was very healthy wish choice of carbohydrates, veggie, fruits and meat for each meal. Snack is provided each time after excursion. The crew works very hard in keeping the boat neat and tidy. It is very well maintained boat.

Maja and the crew were also very concern about safety. On the morning when the Chile earthquake hit, tsunami warning was made to all boats in Galapagos to stay at least one mile away from the shore. Angelito immediately pull away from the coast but two other cruise that were close by did not do the same. Although nothing happened at the end, I was greatful that Maja and the crew were mindful of these precautions. Sometimes, these precautions can make a difference of life and death.

All in all, Angelito is great value for money. If you are looking for a safe and clean boat with superb crew and naturalist to enrich your Galapagos experience, I would highly recommend Angelito for you!

Lastly, I would recommend everyone who are looking to book with Angelito to deal directly with Maja and Bruna's travel agency, Cometa Travel (www.angelitogalapagos.com)I checked with a few agencies and I found that Cometa will give you the best deal if you book Angelito with them.

Our family just came back from 8 days tour on Angelito (dec 20th-27th) with Maja as our guide.

This was one of the most memorable time s of our life. I highly recommend this boat if you are looking for a mid range option.

Maja is an excellent guide. She is very knowledgeable and easy going. On multiple occasions we noticed other guides came over and asked her questions. She does an excellent job of explaining everything. Another great thing about her was that we end up spending more time at each island than other groups. It was not uncommon for us to be the first ones on and last ones off of an island. We also had plenty of time snorkeling. Maja usually joins in the snorkeling and again is wealth of information. We saw marine iguanas feeding under water, swam with the penguins and the seals and saw a bunch of white tip sharks and even a couple of Manta rays. I cannot praise her enough.

The boat is simple, yet clean with good crew and very good food. It is not a fancy or a party boat, no DVD player in the cabins or whirlpool on the deck, but that is not what one goes to Galapagos for.

After Galapagos, we spent 4 days in Amazon in Case del Suizo. I also recommend this place. The drive from Quito to Casa del Suzio takes about 4-5 hours and it is a beautiful drive. On clear days you get a beautiful view of Cotopaxi and Antisana volcanoes. We made all the arrangement through Cometa travel: www.angelitogalapagos.com

Hi Maja and Bruna,
We just came back from our week long cruise from Feb 21 to 28, 2010 with Angelito guided by Maja. Thanks for organizing everything for us - our trip went smoothly. Maja, your enthusiasm and positive attitude made our trip great despite of the weather. We were able to snorkel for the first time in our life with your help as well! Our trip to Galapagos can't be better. I am so glad that we decided to travel with Angelito! I hope to be able to do the second itinerary with Angelito some time in the future. Please keep up with all the hard work!

Hallo Maja

Hello Bruna!
Just wanted to let you know Spence and I were very pleased with our trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands... the Hampton Inn in Guayaquil was excellent – we enjoyed the room and the restaurant very much. The Angelio was great! Our guide, Diego, was excellent and we met some great people on the cruise. The accommodations were excellent, good food – we had a wonderful time!

Thank you for making all the arrangements you did – it sure made things a lot easier for us. We would definitely recommend your services to anyone who asks.

“Fantastic trip to mainland Ecuador and the Galapagos”

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful trip to mainland Ecuador (November, 2009) (primarily the route through the Valley of Volcanoes and the Galapagos). On our periodic stays in Quito which we used as our base we stayed at Hostal de la Rabida, a small very friendly, clean, secure, comfortable place to stay. The people there were very responsive to any request we made. Cometa Travel /(www.angelitogalapagos.com /www.cometatravel.com)helped us with the remainder of our trip. They worked with us closely to meet our interests in Mainland Ecuador and provided for us a fantastic driver/guide who spent 4 days with us. Wilmer Silva was very knowledgeable about many aspects of the country, gave us choices as we travelled, and we benefitted from his many resources in people and places he has gotten to know throughout his more than 10 years of experience. We also booked our 8 day tour of the Galapagos with Cometa Travel on the yacht Angelito. We made the most amazing tour of the islands with another fantastic guide, Maja. There were 12 others on the yacht. These are not luxurious accomodations but quite comfortable, plenty of healthful well prepared meals, always snacks after our island explorations, and a crew that took care of us well. These island hikes were somewhat physically challenging due to the rough character of the terrain - and probably our ages - I am 67+. However, the hikes went at a slow pace as we were given, not only fascinating information about the diversity of animals we saw, but were also given the time to simply watch life take place on these unique islands. There is so much more to say but I'll stop here. Be happy to answer questions if I can.

Buenos dias Maja,

Dear Maja and Bruna,
David and I wanted to thank you for all you did to make such a wonderful experience for us on the Ecuador mainland and in the Galapagos. It was certainly one of the most memorable and fascinating vacations of our lives. As a result of our great guides, it was also a great learning experience. We look at our photos with fond memories and are thankful that we selected you to help us with our travel. Please pass on our greetings and thanks to Wilmer as well as the great crew of the Angelito..
Wishing you the best.
Muchas Gracias,
David and Susan
Maya,

Just thinking about you and my great time in Ecuador this AM. Just enjoyed some cedron tea - thanks to you!! Also, thought I'd give you a link to my photographs in case some prospective guest would like to preview Galapagos, Cotopaxi, etc. I wouldn't mind if someone wanted to contact me for a reference. Hola Maja,

Muchos saludos, Kerstin y Petra
I just returned from a week cruise in the Galapagos aboard the yacht Angelito. To be helpful, I thought I'd share our experiences.

The Galapagos are fabulous. We swam with sea lions, saw orcas feeding, saw penguins, boobies, iguanas, albatross, topic birds and more.

Strengths of the Angelito included a great guide (Diego), very service oriented crew, excellent food including vegetarian choices, clean well maintained ship, adequate bunks, lots of snorkeling, free masks and fins. One problem was the rough seas on the long passages that had some passengers seasick, including my daughters.

The itinerary included Genovesaand Espanolawhich I gather is unusual so we saw both nesting blue footed boobies and waved albatrosses. We did not see Fernandinaor Isabella, nor did we see the large tortoises in the wild (we did see them at Darwin Station). We were there at a time of year to see the albatross which was great. However, the mating season of the blue footed booby, when you can see the famous mating dance, is spring, so we missed that -- a trade-off.

I booked through a broker, Guide2Galapagos. I had anxiety about wiring all that money and receiving essentially nothing to guarantee the trip in return, but is was all fine in the end. However, G2G provided minimal assistance and I'd recommend booking directly with the owner, Cometa travel. They have a web page. When I contacted them, they seemed helpful and others on my yacht had used them and thought them excellent too.

Overall a great experience and I would recommend the Angelito to others.
It was wonderful. The entire crew did a great job and had a good attitude, they worked very hard to make sure everything went smoothly.

Diego is very knowlegable and was patient with everybody.

We felt that your whole operation was very professional.

Thanks again for everything,
Julie and Randy
We just returned from our cruise on the Angelito and I thought I would let you know that we had a great time. Diego was a great guide. The crew members were all excellent. The itinerary was great. Cabins were OK. The food was very good.
Two minor suggestions.
(1) The vegetarian options could be improved.
(2) Rather than downplaying the roughness of the passages to Genovesa and Espanola, suggest ahead of time to anyone inclined to seasickness that they take their medicine.

Overall we had a great experience and would recommend the Angelito to others enthusiastically. Thank you very much.

Maja, we had such a good time with you on your boat. It was one of the best trips we've ever taken. Very well organized, and especially the timing of our group on each island, so that we felt we had the island to ourselves. And also plenty of time to walk, and stop, and look, and feel the environment---very special. Thank you for sharing your knowledge (and your humor) with us, you have a very special attitude toward life. You made it a very special trip for us. Ignacio
Well what an experience! Everything about the holiday was fantabulous the boat, the crew, the cuisine and to cap it all the experience of being priviledged to meet some of the worlds most exotic creatures:sharks, boobies, iguanas, sealions and reptiles including tortoises and turtles. The organisation was also superb from the time we stepped off of the plane to arriving back at quito.Full marks to amazing Peru and the owners of Angelito the finest boat on the Galapagos. Diego our guide was also superb, working us hard to see and understand about the animals and plants that we encountered. Well done Angelito. Tony Cox and Nadya Golovina
Hola amigos:

We just returned from the Galapagos and thought that we would share our experiences with the board.

After hearing only positive comments about the Angelito, we decided to book a one week cruise in November aboard the Angelito. We could not have been happier with our selection. The boat is very well maintained, the crew of 7 plus the guide were friendly and professional and the food was excellent. We booked our trip directly with the boat's owners (Cometa Travel). Maja, one of the boat's owners, arranged everything via email, including the flights from Quito to Balta. We were VERY nervous about depositing $3400+ into a bank account without any guarantees or the protection of a credit card transaction. As it turned out, we had nothing to worry about.

Our naturalist guide, Diego, was excellent. He was born in Puerto Ayora and has 25+ years experience. His dry sense of humor and idle threats of a test at the end of the week always kept us entertained. Our fellow travelers were from the US, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, England and France. The mix was excellent and the tours were in English. We traveled at night and the seas got rough...bring sea sickness medication if you are prone to motion sickness.

Highlights were the islands of Espanola and Genovesa, but all the islands had much to offer. We snorkeled and swam every day and we felt like the day spent in Puerto Ayora was a positive and not a negative. A one week trip felt like the right amount of time. A 3-4 day trip would have been too short.

We travel a lot and this Galapagos trip was one of our favorites.

John
We had the most wonderful 8-day cruise on the Angelito in May 2005. The crew were marvellous, the food delicious and we felt pampered the whole week. The planning was excellent and Efrain (our guide) knowledga ble and helpful at all times. The itinerary was marvellous, with something n ew, exciting and unexpected every day. I would happily recommend this boat a nd crew to all. Please extend our thanks to all. Caroline Beresford
The trip on the Angelito was great. The peak of our tour to Ecuador! We enjoyed everything: the nice group, the welcoming crew and the wunderfull islands. Thanks to the crew and our awsome guide Maja. We will come back as soon as possible!!! Familie Widmann, Germany
We spent a week on the angelito I. A great week. Beautiful yacht, very good guide(Hansel), amazing islands. Thank you for the most special week in our life. Thank you all. Missing all of you. Shiri and Avi. Dr. Avi Abargel, Israel

Thank you Hansel, William and all the crew for looking after us so well. Sarah and I have had the most memorable week of our life. The video and the photos are great thanks to a good teacher Hansel. I will eventually get round to sending a video copy as soon as possible. We are both back at work of course and I am preparing to go to Rwanda again to see the mountain gorillas and to visit an orphanage I am involved with. We cannot believe we saw so many whales! What a wonderful experience that was. Regards and best wishes to all Sylvia and Sarah Morgan Sylvia Morgan, England
Bonjour Bruna,

Carme.
Regards and best wishes to all Sylvia and Sarah Morgan
Hallo Maja, hallo Bruna,

Weiter so!
